Sun-yi
Sun-yi records Seoul subway platforms and fish markets, then slows them until the words become texture. No instruments were played on “Platform 1″—the recording is the instrument.
Busan slowed to forty percent
A Busan subway announcement was stretched to 40 percent speed until the Korean words dissolved into ambient sound. “Every sound is treated field audio,” Sun-yi says of Subway Light.
